I made this card for my nephew who was turning 16 and is a huge outdoors man. He loves camping and canoeing so when I received these fabulous Kitchen Sink Stamps in the mail, I knew immediately I had to use them for this birthday card. I placed the circle die where I wanted it and taped it in place. Then I stamped the trees using Distress inks. I cut the circle next. On the card base, I traced in pencil where the circle would be so I knew where to create the canoe scene. The lake is multi-step kitchen sink too and the canoer comes in this same set. I stamped grass around the lower part of the circle and it looked horrible. Ugh! Now what? It's fall, so there are falling leaves, right? Yep! I placed several distress ink re-fills on my craft mat, spritzed them with water, and smashed some watercolor paper into the wet ink, and let this absorb well. Set this watercolored paper aside to dry while cutting out the word Happy on the cricut. Stamped the birthday sentiment, then the paper was dry so I could die cut the leaves. Thank goodness for die cuts and embellishments for hiding errors! Sponged in some green and blue to create a soft fall scene. My nephew loved his card and was surprised it was not store bought! Yay!

Congrat's on your nephew loving this and for not giving up on it when you didn't like the grass. It's beautiful and grass that is showing looks great accented by the Fall leaves.
Hugs & Well Wishes :O)

Another beautiful card. Again - love the circle highlighting the scene.
